Rutherford Cavan Suede Split Sole Irish Ghillies • worn in girls/ladies competitive categories with poodle socks.

Rutherford GOLD Split Sole Jazz Shoes With Heel (novice and up) • worn in boys/mens competitive categories with standard gym socks in class and black dress socks for performances.

Most of these brands use UK sizing, so use their respective size guides. Champ dancers aim for a slight toe curl when purchasing new softshoes because they will stretch upon break-in, but for beginner/novice/prizewinner I recommend a very snug, second skin fit with toes touching the end (like rock climbing shoes) to start.
They have a 90-day return policy if you're able to order a couple sizes to try out.
