More info

At Céilí Camp, dancers will be introduced to the basics of Irish dance through exciting new choreography and traditional céilí team dances—but with a twist! We'll dance with a parachute, build leprechaun traps, jam out to Irish folk music with instruments, and whatever else Lucky the Leprechaun has up his sleeve. All identities, all bodies, and all abilities are welcome to enjoy the merriment and cultural richness of Irish dance. No experience required! For grades K-5.

  • -A full water bottle

    -A snack

    -Comfortable athletic clothing

-Long hair should be tied back

-Socks, ballet slippers, or jazz shoes are just fine for camp. Dancers may wear tennis shoes if they need the extra support (the more form-fitting, the better).

  • Absolutely! Céilí Campers are invited to join my weekly Kids Beginner class at the studio if they’re ready to take their dancing to the next level in a more focused and individualized setting.

First class is free, and all Céilí Camp graduates receive an additional $25 off the first month’s tuition.

  • If you’re looking to buy the proper Irish dance shoes, here are my recommendations for beginners:

Antonio Pacelli Split Sole Ava Pumps • worn in girls competitive categories with poodle socks.

Rutherford Reel Shoes • worn in boys competitive categories with standard gym socks in class and black dress socks for performances.

(They use UK sizing, so use their respective size guides. Intermediate/advanced dancers aim for a slight toe curl in their softshoes, but for beginners I recommend a very snug, second skin fit with toes touching the end (like rock climbing shoes) because they will stretch. They have a 90-day return policy if you're able to order a couple sizes to try out.)

Otherwise, socks, jazz shoes, or ballet slippers are just fine at first.

Please feel free to contact Irene with any other questions.
